Meeting people

Hello

I have gathered from reading the messages on the forum, that some visitors to NY City have met up with some of the natives that also use the forum. I wondered if it would be poosible for us to meet up with someone?

It would be great as I am a bit apprehensive( but also excited!!!) about our forthcoming trip.

It would be so cool even if it was just for an hour or so.

Am I asking the impossible?

(we arrive about 4 o clock on the 25th and are staying at the Wellington Hotel)

You%26#39;re not asking the impossible...you may be asking too late.

Bigapplegreeters.org provides volunteers to show visitors around certain parts of the city. Bettina and NYCgirl, frequent contributors to this board, are both greeters, I believe. I don%26#39;t know if you could arrange one in time if you%26#39;re coming in on February 25th. If it%26#39;s March 25th, most likely.

Generally, when people on this board meet with visitors, it%26#39;s because we%26#39;ve struck up a friendship through a number of posts on this forum over a period of time, or because we might share a common interest so we want to meet the person. Some of the people on this forum plan their visits nearly a year in advance and are full of questions just about up until the time their plane takes off.

You never know, try to contact the Greeter office and see if someone is available for you:

we went to the blue note club. It%26#39;s very ';intimate'; i.e. you share your table with about 4 others. But we had an hours conversation between the music with new yorkers which was as much fun as the music.
