Something special for a birthday on a Monday night

Hi

We%26#39;re visiting NYC for the first time in mid April for 5 nights. Our last day in the city will be a Monday and is also my boyfriend%26#39;s birthday. I am looking for ideas for things to do (some of which could be suprises) on his birthday, I was thinking helicopter tour, and ideas for a great last night/birthday night out to include a fantastic meal and then drinks in a fun but stylish place.

Any recommendations greatfully received!

Thanks

just came back from my boyfriends birthday..........go to river cafe and tell them you want the window seat with the view........unbelievable and unforgettable. Were going to do a helicopter tour but it was 15mins for 400. you can see all from river cafe

Here%26#39;s another option. Ride a carriage through Central Park and back. Walk over to the Trump Tower at Columbus Circle and dine at Jean Georges (reserve in advance). Then see the play of your choice and post play stop by the Rainbow Grill for a late night drink and incredible view of the city.

Where are you staying?

Thanks for these suggestions. I%26#39;ve heard a lot of great things about the river cafe so will definately check it out whilst we%26#39;re there.

I%26#39;ve seen helicopter tours for less than 400, but they are shorter.

We%26#39;re staying at the Envoy Club (apart-hotel type place) which is on East 33rd Street between 1st and 2nd Ave. It%26#39;s not really central but I think we might be glad to get away from what will undoubtedly be the crazyness of midtown and the tourist attractions at the end of a busy day!

Check out Liberty Helicopters website - it%26#39;s much cheaper than that. I think we paid $100 (roughly) for a 10 - 12 minute flight, but we actually got a 25 minute flight for that. It%26#39;s a once in a lifetime kind of thing. Also, a show would be a great idea - we saw the Phantom of the Opera on a Monday night and it was fantastic.

Hi again,

I must have called on a bad day to Liberty Tours as the person on the line quoted me $169 plus tax US/person for max 17mins. In canadian $ thats $400 total. Money is not an issue for us but for the price I really enjoyed River cafe. I have been all over the world and stand by that recommendation.

Keep in mind that most Broadway theaters are closed on Monday night.
