Just looking for a room for one night (tuesday) in the city w/bath for under $100. I know that%26#39;s cheap for Manhattan, but there HAS to be SOMETHING out there....
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, it%26#39;s a birthday present...
Any decent hotels under $100 w/bath in Manhattan?? HELP!
Unfortunately, you won%26#39;t find anything decent in Manhattan for under $100. Perhaps, you could try bidding for a room on one of the discount webpages. Some hotels have rates that vary by season and Jan. 1 - Feb. 28 is the cheapest time of year. So you could try putting a bid for $100 and see what happens.
Otherwise, in looking through the AAA guidebook, for under $100, you would have to stay in Queens or Jersey City.

I just noticed you said ';it%26#39;s a birthday present';. Does that mean you want to give someone a hotel stay in NYC for under $100? That would not be a good idea. It would be a dump. Why don%26#39;t you get a gift certificate for a restaurant or a gift certicficate towards broadway show tickets? I%26#39;ve never seen anything decent in the city for less than $169 a night, and then there%26#39;s all the taxes added...
Well, it%26#39;s actually PART of a birthday present. I have tickets to a show, and we%26#39;re going out afterwards. We%26#39;re both used to budget travelling, so we don%26#39;t need a 5 star room. Just a bed and a bathroom, really...
I%26#39;d second Sue Fee%26#39;s idea of putting in a bid of $100 on Priceline. Make sure you specify a good neighborhood though, and I%26#39;d say at least 2 stars. Otherwise, what%26#39;s the treat? Wouldn%26#39;t you rather commute home to LI? (I assume you live there.) Also, you can look on Orbitz, but again I%26#39;d specify at least 2 stars, and then check the reviews before you book.
