american airlines

has anyone flown with them recently ? have they got seat back screens in econemy ?. whats the service like ?

thanks to all who reply !!

american airlines

They had the longest legroom, on my Chicago flight there were seatbackTV%26#39;s, food was OK, staff fine, soft drinks only included...all alcoholic drinks were $5

american airlines

I flew with them in January on a Boeing 777 and they were great. They have got seat back screens in economy. The service was good and the food was good as well.

Good to know! Just booked return flights to NYC with them! So looking forward to it!

I have flow with them 3 times in the last few months - flew the 777 - 2 - 5 - 2 configuration (if you know where you will be seated check seatguru.com or seatexpert.com for further information - these websites grade seats and alert you to any problems such as limited recline)

The 777%26#39;s I have flown on always have seatback screens - If you go onto their (aa.com) website you can even check what movies will be shown - and check your flight number %26amp; see that it is a 777 - Bear in mind that on some airlines the older planes don%26#39;t always have seatback TVs.

Food is OK - not much better/worse than most airlines - sometimes you get a individual pizza as your afternoon snack.

Previous poster is correct they charge for alcoholic drinks ($5 each)but soft drinks are free (also you get regular sized cans unlike those given out on BA or Virgin)

The best bit is the pitch in ecconomy - I belive its 34 inch v%26#39;s 31 inch on other scheduled airines - I flew AA to JFK %26amp; the room was great - but I just got back from a 7 hour flight on BA and REALLY missed the extra pitch AA offer. - For comfort I would always go with AA.

If you have any other questions ask away

I flew with them last week. No screens. No pillows. No blankets. No food, buy a box of processed meat, crackers and an Oreo cookie for $3 on board if your%26#39;re hungry. Beverage service, but if you want water it comes from the iffy airline tank. Bottled to make you think it%26#39;s clean, but if you ask the attendants they will verify that it%26#39;s airline tank water. The very minimal extra leg room isn%26#39;t worth the misery of a long flight on this stripped down airline.

hi, with respect to the last poster from your address it looks like yours was an internal flight...arent internal flights within usa very basic like this?

666, we flew with them when we went to nyc.

seat pitch great, food nice enough we had a beef or chicken sweet and sour going, something I cant recall coming back and a pizza thing for brekkie before landing. They came round often with the soft drinks and they had seat back tv%26#39;s.

I am used to flying with british airways and found the crew flying out quite rude and abrupt and very unhelpful as we had a ten month old baby. She had the powdered baby food and I had everything I needed except some hot water to mix it with and asked for that and it was like I asked for liquid gold. Flying home they were almost human though.

Safety wise if you are flying with a small baby all american airlines are bad as they dont have a baby seat belt to attach to yours and I seriously struggled to keep hold of her on landing and in turbulance. SOmeone said to me it is to encourage you to pay for a seat to use a baby seat in but who wants to carry a great big baby seat on holiday. I wish I had known this prior or i would have flown with birgin or BA.

The AA terminal (8) at jfk is pants, it is old, dirty and awful and very bad for duty free/eating when coming home so dont expect too much.

For the bad reasons we are flying with BA this time coming but if you dont have kids etc then I guess its a good all rounder but I have higher hopes for BA!

thats good to know I made as I am flying with aa to ny on wednesday,

my only problem now is the forcast snowfall for the coming week, might make my jouney to airport tricky.

typical, I like snow and never see enough of it , and now its gonna be a complete pain and there is none in ny
