Yankees

Going to the yankees game on fri 29th april starts at 7.05 how long does it last? Also thinking of going there on the nywaterways yankee clipper...can anyone recommend?

Yankees

Well, here%26#39;s the thing....games can be as short as 2 hours or very long, depending if the games goes into extra innings...there is not such thing as a tie in baseball. Figure by 10 - 10:30, if the game goes 9 innings.

Cannot comment on the nywaterways, but I do know that it an easy ride via the subway.

However, the ferry sounds like fun.

Yankees

thanks nycgirl....is the weather usually warming up by then? I know it%26#39;s hard to predict, just need to know whether to bring my big jumper! :o)

April 29th should be lovely, but bring a light jacket or sweater because it can still be cool at night. Just have a beer or too, you%26#39;ll be plenty warm!!!! I am a Yankees fan, and I am sure that you will enjoy your experience at the stadium. Sometimes the people watching is better than the game!

Unlike soccer, football, basketball and hockey, baseball is the only major sport which isn%26#39;t timed by a clock. It has innings, which consist of three ';outs'; for each team. Once each team makes three outs that inning is over. There are nine innings all together, or, the opportunity for each team to make 27 outs.

If the game is a draw after 9 innings, extra innings are played and the game isn%26#39;t decided until there%26#39;s a winner. The longest game is major league history was, I believe, 26 innings, or the equivalent of three full games.

The duration of the game depends upon many factors. How many runs scored. How fast or slow the pitchers are. How many pitching changes are made. And so on. The typical game tales three hours, give or take 15 minutes on either end.

Even though you%26#39;re going on April 29th, dress warmly. You can always take something off, but it can get pretty cold at night at Yankee Stadium.

Since it won%26#39;t likely be a warm evening, I%26#39;d dismiss the notion of taking the boat outright. Further, like many local Yankees fans, I%26#39;ve been to the Stadium tons of times; But I have never even considered taking nycwaterways because of value vs. cost.

P.S. -- You do understand that you need not stay for the entire game? Seeing this wonderful, historical place for the first time, is unforgettable. BUT, if the game%26#39;s goin%26#39; south, there%26#39;s no reason to torture yourself!

Don%26#39;t buy any HOCKEY tickets!!
