recomendations for great dinner

Hi everyone,

Me, and my 2 best friends are going to new york march 28th-april 1st. We are looking for a great dinner with a great atmosphere, and great wine. We want something pricey, with great plate presentations, and all that kind of stuff. A dinner you would only spend that kind of money on for 3 single 30 something year old girls, on a trip to new york!!! Cannot wait! Any recomendations would be helpful!

Thanks! jenny

A few choices....

Tocqueville is one of my favorites. A very ';adult'; restaurant serving French and Asian influenced American cuisine.

River Cafe, though touristy, is an incredible experience. The best view and the food is lovely as well.

Asiate is a new favorite. It%26#39;s on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the new AOL Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. They serve French-Asian cuisine that is outstanding, as are the views of Central Park and Broadway.

Veritas is all about the wine, their list is legendary! The cuisine is created to complement the wine rather than the other way around. Another outstanding restaurant.

Jean George in the Trump Tower at Columbus Circle is exceptional. Spendy, but outstanding. Other options I have loved are Cafe Des Artistes, Grammercy Tavern dining room, The Mark Hotel dining room, The Rainbow Grill, Cafe Boulud. Have fun. Check out the restaurant reviews on Tripadvisor.

...the tasting menu at Chanterelle was fantastic too (I lost track of the number of courses)! It%26#39;s located in Tribeca (below Canal St).

Cool, thanks.
