Anyone know of any cool places to go for poetry readings, or open mic type place? Anyone know anything about the kgb bar?

There are lots of good places for this. Most are dowtown in the West and East Villages and the Lower East Side. Get a Time Out New York when you arrive and check the Books and Poetry section. There are usually a few slams going on each night.

KGB is interesting. Call when you arrive and see what%26#39;s happening there as well.

Go to www.poetz.com. It%26#39;s all there. KGB is a great place but doesn%26#39;t do open mics. The Pink Pony Series at the Cornelia St Cafe (in the West Village), Fridays at 6.00pm is very good.
