Too bad it%26#39;s such a quick trip!

If I had may way (and I NEVER do!), I%26#39;d move Century 21. Personally it saddens me that people pay their respects at the World Trade Center site and then go for some ';retail therapy.'; Realistically, though, it%26#39;s logistically what you have to do, so I%26#39;m just venting here. Please, please take some time to see the exhibit at St. Paul%26#39;s Chapel, and THEN go to Century 21. It%26#39;s just a block away.

Depending on the weather, you can take the free Staten Island Ferry. It%26#39;s a quick 25-minute ride, then you just turn around and return (not much to see in Staten Island). You%26#39;ll get excellent photo ops of the Statue of Liberty though.

And you might start your day with the tour bus. That way you can get the lay of the land, see where everything is, and can go back later and revisit what interests you.

I%26#39;m 100% sure that your wife will prefer the great Lord %26amp; Taylor over Macy%26#39;s -- the merchandise is arranged better, not jammed together, and the sales people are actually friendly and helpful. It%26#39;s only a few blocks away, on 5th Ave. at 39th Street.

Also depending on the weather, try the ESB late in the afternoon so you can have daytime and dusk/evening views.

If you have any thoughts about theater, it%26#39;s so much better to buy your tickets in advance and have them held at the box office. Lots of discounts available for long-running shows on www.broadwaybox.com.

You might also reserve a table for brunch at Central Park%26#39;s Boathouse Restaurant, the food is terrific and the setting couldn%26#39;t be more lovely. 1-212-517-2233

If I were you, I%26#39;d try to squeeze in a visit to the United Nations and the South Street Seaport.

I%26#39;m not sure your brief time is best spent with a long walk over the Brooklyn Bridge (and back!)...Maybe a quick cable car ride from the 59th Street Bridge to Roosevelt Island and back would satisfy your need to go over water!!

I stayed at the Skyline Hotel in October of 2003. I was traveling by myself and was arriving in NYC after a nearly 21-hour train ride from Chicago. This was my first trip alone. In other words, everything needed to be right.

I was actually quite pleased with the Skyline. The staff was very nice, the hotel was clean (I got a pretty big room, considering a lot of NYC rooms are pretty small) and the pool on the top floor provides incredible views of the city, especially at night. I have a couple of amazing pictures of the city taken from the top floor of the hotel.

The Intrepid Air/Space Museum is a few blocks away, on 12th and...44th, I think? That%26#39;s an AMAZING museum that%26#39;s actually in a massive naval ship.

Anyways, despite a few mixed reviews of the Skyline on this site, it%26#39;s a good hotel in a very good location.

I agree with Bettina on Century 21 - the place is a mess and you really have to hunt to find anything, you waste SOOOOO much time trying to find things in your size.

Lord %26amp; Taylor is much better, even the sales racks are by size. Check out their web site as if a sale is on you can print out coupons for extra 15 to 20 % off. Macys is huge and dont forget to pick up your 11% discount card from the Vistors centre on the mezz floor. I don%26#39;t know how you are going to fit it all in such a short space of time good luck !

Many thanks to you all for replying and giving us some great advice.I cant tell you how much we are looking forward to our trip

Thanks a lot
