new jersey hotel with subway connections to Manhattan

I am traveling with teenage daughters to Manhattan. I am on a tight budget and ';someone'; had told me that they had stayed at a nice clean safe hotel in New Jersey that had a subway connection like down the street that would take you into Manhattan. Does anyone know the name of such place?

Probably, they were referring to the Hyatt in Jersey City. It is very close to a PATH train station plus it has wonderful views of NYC. The PATH train costs $1.50 each way and will have you in midtown Manhattan in about 15-20 minutes.

Dear Beachdaisy,

I%26#39;m not familar with the hotel in NJ. I would also, suggest you look into the room rates at the Brooklyn Marriott located in Downtown Brooklyn. It is near to all the major subway train lines so you can easily access all five boroughs. It is a short walk over the Brooklyn Bridge (a site and view not to be missed) to lower Manhattan for sites like City Hall, South Street Seaport, Ground Zero, and the Financial District. Within the hotel锟斤拷锟絪 vicinity you can visit Junior锟斤拷锟絪 Restaurant for the famous cheesecake, attend a service at the Brooklyn Tabernacle to experience the Grammy winning choir live and in person or take a self guided walking tour through historic Brooklyn Heights.

Welcome,

What is your budget for a room? It may be that there are nice places in Manhattan that would work for you!

I am also considering the Hyatt in Jersey City as it can be had on priceline for a reasonable cost and we are driving and need a place to park. Is there really a big advantage to staying in Midtown West (also can be had on priceline for a great rate)? Securing safe parking is a big concern for us.

The Hyatt in Jersey City, which is coming up lately at $50 a night and LESS on priceline is one heck of a deal. The advantages are the price for the quality, Manhattan skyline views, easy parking, and convenience to PATH train--just a 15 minute ride to midtown Manhattan.

Disadvantages are that it is not in Manhattan and requires the train ride in.

For a lot more discussion about the Hyatt, Jersey City, check out betterbidding.com%26#39;s New York board. They%26#39;ll also help you get it for the lowest price possible.
