Hotel booking advice for a very pickey mother!

I hope you can help me. I am doing some research for my friend who is paying for his mother and partner to go NYC for 4 days in March. She hasvery exacting standards! Which top end hotel would you recommend with a great location and that ';old world elegance and service';(but not too stuffy). His budget is top end 700$ per night incl tax(give or take a few dollars).

So far i have short listed The Ritz-Carlton Central park (excecutive level) the St Regis and maybe the Pierre.

Can anyone offer any advice on these or alternatives.

Thanks in advance

Asha

Try Trump International....rated one of the best hotels in the world, not sure of the price, though.

If I could stay anywhere in NY it would be the Ritz Central Park.

she is lucky he is paying

what about the mandarin oriental

Old World Elegance=Ritz Carlton Central Park.

As an alternative to those already mentioned, you may want to check out the Carlyle at 76th %26amp; Madison. Great upper east side neighborhood, old world charm and elegance.

Thank you for the advice. Will check them all out and let my pal know.

Was also thinking of booking dinner for them at Jean-Georges is this any good?
