Hi,
Working on my itinerary! Very exciting! But have a quick question. We are thinking doing the UN tour. Do we have to book for this in adv? Please help.....
UN Visitbooking the UN tour is advance is not necessary. You book it when you arrive and the tours run on a regular basis. The public used to be able to eat in the delegates lounge, but that may now be off-limits. Check it out. You may also want to go across the street to the hotel (I recall it as the UN Plaza, but I think it%26#39;s something else now) and dine in the Ambassador Grill. Lots of diplomats coming and going and you can soak up that international ambiance...even if you%26#39;re NOT a world leader!
UN VisitCheck their website, www.un.org.
I did not see anything on the site for prebooking, maybe I missed it.
If you are purchasing the new york pass (not the new york city pass), it is included. Check this site - www.newyorkpass.com
aust traveller
the hotel opposite is the millenium un plaza
Although you don%26#39;t have to book the UN tour in advance, you might want to check and make sure the UN will actually be open and giving tours on the day you want to go. Depending on what%26#39;s going on at the UN on any day -- for example, whether a major world leader is visiting-- they may limit public access temporarily.
Thanks everyone!
NYCamb, I hadn%26#39;t thought about restricted access on visit days. May have to view from outside if that%26#39;s case.
