The Warwick Hotel

I finally booked a trip in May, and after way too much deliberation, picked the Warwick (65 West 54th). How is this area? Our itinerary includes: a Broadway show, a performance at Julliard, The Museum of American Folk Art, MoMA, Central Park, the Staten Island Ferry, and a jaunt to Times Square and maybe some shopping areas just for the heck of it. How about walking to and from Lincoln Center or Times Square after dark? Are there any decent, inexpensive markets/restaurants/delis close by? Thanks in advance.

The Warwick Hotel

I think the Warwick is very well situated for all the places you mention. Except for the Staten Island Ferry, they%26#39;re all within easy walking distance of the hotel, which is in a great area, and you%26#39;ll have no problems at all walking anywhere after dark (I never have, and I%26#39;m a female on her own!). For the Ferry, you%26#39;ll just have to hop on the subway. Regarding eateries, there%26#39;s certainly no shortage of anything you could possibly wish for in that area. Hope this helps.

The Warwick Hotel

Just to let you know, I have stayed at the Warwick for both of my NYC trips and thought that it was an excellent location not to mention a very helpful staff. Enjoy!

Before I moved to New York I would stay at the Warwick. It%26#39;s a good hotel. CLean, nice, friendly staff. The location is great because it is central, sort of just off of the Times Square area, but not IN Times Square which is a madhouse and loud. Not that you shouldn%26#39;t ';do'; Times Square (I see it on your list) in fact it%26#39;s a must-see, however not to be staying in it is a good thing... I think it%26#39;s ok to walk from Lincoln Center to Times Square after dark depending on what time it is. Before midnight 12:30am you%26#39;ll be surrounded by people. If you feel unsafe, take a taxi. The fare shouldn%26#39;t be more than $5 or $6.
