I would like to make make reservations for June, I have the seating map from the Gershwin Theatre and what I am be offered for the $100 seats is Left of Orchestra center stage, row M seats 31-33 or Front Mezzaine right of stage seats 20-22. Is anyone familier with the seating at the Gershwin? Would it be worth $100 for either of these areas. I don%26#39;t mind paying the price but I don%26#39;t want seats that I wouldn%26#39;t be apply to enjoy the show. We would like to see a couple of shows while we are in New York. We are also thinking of hairspray but I think I%26#39;ll wait till some discounts come up for that. Now they are only offering them till end of March. Thank you, for any information and your time
Wicket seating
We had seats in the very back row and had a wonderful view of the whole stage.
The thing with wicked is that you need to be a bit further back to get the full effect of the magnificent work that has been put into the stage around it.
Wicked is really really good we loved it. We hadn%26#39;t heard anything about it before we went and were a bit nervous about it but it was great. I think that our seats were $60 it was about 45 pound%26#39;s including all the taxes and things like that but our seats were just fab
Enjoy
Wicket seating
Honestly, I think both are too far to the side. Center seating is a three-digit number, starting with 101 (aisle). Side seating starts at the center, so the first two seats off the aisle are numbered 1 %26amp; 3, or 2 %26amp; 4. Number get higher the closer to the side, so 22 is 11 seats off the aisle. Maybe I%26#39;m too picky, but I don%26#39;t like going more than 4 seats off the aisle.
Thats was I was thinking also Bettina. That the seats were too far over. Maybe I%26#39;ll just keep trying with ticketmaster and see if any other seats come up, but I kind of doubt it. It seems those are the only ones that keep coming up.
So it isn%26#39;t just me repeatedly trying Ticketmaster for Wicked seats whilst squinting at the Gershwin seating map !
Thanks to this forum I changed my original plan of waiting in line at TKTS - to waiting for a BroadwayBox.com discount code -to finally deciding to pay full price through Ticketmaster.
If I am correct - Wicked will be unlikely to have decent seats in May through TKTS or available to book with a discount code, because it is popular, winning a Grammy this week for the soundtrack recording will make it even more so possibly ?
Since I started checking seat availability I noticed the week-ends are now fully booked altogether through Ticketmaster but are available with hotel packages through Broadway.com - whom incidentally charge $20 booking fee rather than Ticketmaster $6.50 - if I read it correctly - for the same bookings.
There are also Premium seats available priced at $300 mid-week to $360 Fri / Sat / Sun. These appear to be Centre Stage at either Orchestra or Front Mezzanine levels.
Having tried dozens and dozens of times it seems to me Ticketmaster only offers - Mid-week - Left Of Centre or Right Of Centre at Front Mezzanine level as Best Available with Rows being C or D - the seat numbers are 13 - 15 on left or 30 - 31 on right.
This contrasts with Movin%26#39; Out - seats are available Centre Stage Row A - seat numbers right in the middle of Richard Rodgers Theatre%26#39; s Front Mezzanine - for the same dates.
Am I on the right lines in thinking I could get away with waiting for a discount code for Movin%26#39; Out but should bite the bullet and pay full price for Wicked seats as available above ?
Thanks !
I find Ticketmaster%26#39;s site tough to use, because you don%26#39;t have a selection of seats to choose from. It might be easier to phone them and talk to a live human being.
www.broadway.com usually has good seats available for most shows, but they do charge a premium. It depends on what%26#39;s important to you. Personally, I wouldn%26#39;t pay that much for anything. And, if you absolutely, positively MUST have tickets, you can always contact the Actors Fund -- if they have seats available, they%26#39;ll charge you double the ticket price!
There are always discount codes on www.broadwaybox.com for the wonderful ';Movin%26#39; Out.'; And, the sight lines at the Richard Rodgers Theater are about the best of any Broadway theater.
I would go for the discounted ';Movin%26#39; Out,'; and then try my luck with the lottery for ';Wicked.'; (I liked ';Movin%26#39; Out'; much more than ';Wicked';).

That has helped me make my mind up - will book a discounted Movin%26#39; Out as soon as the code is available. I really like Billy Joel so that show is for me.
Wicked is the one my wife is REALLY keen to see so if I miss out on tickets - you can watch out for me on CSI-NY - she will kill me !
To be safe will have to pay $100 through Ticketmaster for the Wicked mid-week seats - near the centre as possible on Front Mezzanine.
Thanks very much Bettina.
How interesting.....just yesterday I purchased 2 tickets through Ticketmaster for June for Wicked! After going over and over and looking for better seats,..... I finally hit ';continue';..and wound up with section ORCH, row W, seats 105-106....paying 100.00 per ticket! I hope these will be good seats??? I decided after searching, that going on the week-days had much better seats....if that is helpful. I too, didn%26#39;t want want to take a chance to get discount tickets only to be disappointed. We also bought tickets, again....100.00 for Hairspray. It%26#39;s a lot of money, but whos know when and if we%26#39;ll ever get to experience this again. Gonna make it right the first time!
thisdayforward - '; Gonna Make It Right The First Time ';.
Hey ! That%26#39;s your sub-conscious telling you to book Movin%26#39; Out too !!!
Get It Right The First Time - Billy Joel
The Stranger Released: 1977
I don%26#39;t believe in first impressions
For just this once I hope that looks don%26#39;t deceive
I ain%26#39;t got time for true confessions
I%26#39;ve got to make the move right now
Got to meet that girl somehow
I%26#39;ve gotta get it right the first time
That%26#39;s the main thing
I can%26#39;t afford to let it pass
You get it right the next time that%26#39;s not the same thing
Gonna have to make the first time last.
I%26#39;m not much good at conversation
I never was too smooth at comin%26#39; on real strong
If all it takes is inspiration
Then I might have just what it takes
If I don%26#39;t make no bad mistakes and I
I%26#39;ve gotta get it right the first time
That%26#39;s the main thing
I can%26#39;t afford to let it pass
You get it right the next time that%26#39;s not the same thing
Gonna have to make the first time last.
I might find the courage
Yeah I might get up the nerve
But if my timing ain%26#39;t just right what purpose would it serve?
I don%26#39;t know, I don%26#39;t know, I don%26#39;t know how
To say those first few words
If I want to put myself in touch
The first few moments mean so much
So I suppose it%26#39;s now or never
Before that woman walks right out of my life
Just let me pull myself together
I%26#39;ve got to give it one good try
Gotta take my chance tonight
I%26#39;ve gotta get it right the first time
That%26#39;s the main thing
I can%26#39;t afford to let it pass
You get it right the next time that%26#39;s not the same thing
Gonna have to make the first time last.
Might just have to suck it up (AGAIN ;-) and see Movin%26#39; Out too!
This trip is going to cost an arm and leg....thank goodness I%26#39;ve another of each! ;-)
