Hi. Brining my husband to NYC next friday for a surprise 30th birthday present. He still doesnt even have a clue we%26#39;re coming and it%26#39;s driven me crazy trying to arrange it all without asking his opinion. Could not have done it without the help of this site so thanks to you all. We%26#39;ve only got 3 days there so we really need to pack it all in. We%26#39;re hardened walking pros so dont mind rushing about too much and hey, we can sleep when we%26#39;re dead. So could you look at this and tell us where we are going wrong or what we%26#39;re missing out on. Thanks so much.
Fri 25th. Arrive JFK 16.00, take taxi to Salisbury Hotel W 57th Street. Freshen up and then straight out again to subway, purchase unlimited 7 day card and get NRW subway to 34thSt/Herald Sq. Admire ESB, get a bite to eat, maybe a little shopping before they close and then a late trip up ESB. Subway back to hotel to sleep off jet lag.
Sat 26th. I know we%26#39;ll be up early with the time difference so grab a bagel or something for brekkie, stroll through central park to AMNH. Get the free highlights tour and see a space show. Grab a late lunch on the go and then stroll through park again to Guggenheim. I think we%26#39;ll just go in to admire the architecture and maybe the gift shop. Catch the M1-4 bus down to 5th Ave shops. To be honest I think our feet will be tired by then. Go to Gap, Tiffany, Disney, FAO etc for presents, they all close roughly at 7-8pm. Then either a relaxing meal nearby. Maybe Buger Joint at Parker Meridien (anyone been there?) or something handy and we might go to see Sonic Vision back at AMNH (anyone been?) at 9.30pm. (there and back by cab probably).
Sun 27th. Breakfast at hotel. Get M6 bus to Battery Park. (may get out at Flatiron to take pics - husband loves buildings!). I%26#39;m keen to see the Sphere in Battery Park. Get Staten Island ferry. Walk from Battery Park to South St. Seaport for lunch and shops and then leisurely walk to WTC and St. Pauls chapel WTC exhibit (thanks Bettina). Subway from there to High Street, Brooklyn (line A,C is that right?). Walk along the promenade, maybe go to the chocolate factory and then a dusk walk back over Brooklyn Bridge. See how tired we are then, but it will only be about 6pm so we%26#39;ll need to stay out a bit. Maybe a meal and a movie in Times Sq.
Mon 28th. Husband might want to go to B%26amp;H photo for a browse. Wander around that area and 34th Street. shops. May do a daytime ESB trip if its clear. Have a leisurely last lunch somewhere maybe Grand Central if we take a walk in that direction after ESB. More shopping on 5th Ave just before walking back to hotel in time to get a taxi/transfer to the airport leaving manahattan at about 5.30 for a 9pm flight. Is that enough time in rush hour?
So, any ideas/recommendations gratefully accepted. I want this to be a trip we remember forever. I know we are fitting a lot into 3 days but we can sleep on the plane! We%26#39;re used to not much sleep with a toddler (thankfully leaving her at home) and we just want to make the most of the city. Thanks for all your help.
Itinery for next week. Help needed.im only going for five sightseeing days and mine isnt as much as this or I am not doing enough
it lokks a bit regimented and not fluid
is there anything your husband has ever fancies seeing

enjoy take red bull??
Itinery for next week. Help needed.Yes, kind of get what you mean about being regimented, its not quite so formal as that - we will wing it a bit, but i needed to make sure we fitted certain things in, so we have a park and museum day and then a downtown/brooklyn day in order to avoid loads of time travelling. Still needs some work on it though I guess.
