Pls, could someone check my itinerary again...???

Much better, Eleanor. I%26#39;m not sure if you are listing things each day in the order you are planning to see them. In case you are here are a few more tips.

Friday. Since you are going to Central Park on Sunday again, I wouldn%26#39;t try to squeeze CP into today. If you want to add something to shopping and the library, I%26#39;d move the Time Warner Building and Rock Center tour from Wednesday into here. They%26#39;re in the same general area you%26#39;ll be in.

Saturday. Of what you have listed here, do the helicopter tour first. That%26#39;s in midtown. Everything listed for this day is downtown so why make extra trips. After the helicopter you can do the SOL and Ellis tour and finish up in Chinatown and Little Italy.

Sunday. Perfect. Monday. Excellent, except you may eat so much at the parade you may not want dinner.

Tuesday. Do AMNH first since it%26#39;s uptown. Then back to midtown for Touassuds, NBC Studios and RCMH.

Wednesday. We%26#39;ve moved Rock Center and Time Warner, so do the Circle Line (Pier 83 at West 42nd St.) first and then head down to Chelsea and the West Village.

Thursday. Looks okay, but keep in mind it will take you from 45 minutes to an hour to go to the Cloisters. Since you want to dress a bit nicer for the River Cafe, I suggest that after the Met and Cloisters, you go back to your hotel, freshen up and change clothes since you%26#39;ll be downtown for the rest of the time.

Friday. There%26#39;s no special theater that shows newly released films. Pick up a copy of the local paper or Time Out and see what%26#39;s playing close by your hotel. And when you go to Carmine%26#39;s, remember, one main dish can usually feed four people.

Hope this helps.

Good for you!! I might just print this out and give it to my out of town visitors!!

Two things: I%26#39;d skip Tussuad%26#39;s altogether, I think wax museums are boring after about ten minutes and more importantly tickets are very expensive.

Film Forum, the Screening Room, the Angelica and the Sunshine Theaters are the movie houses with the artsy, indie films. If you%26#39;re interested in the Hollywood Blockbustersgo to the AMC 25 Theater on 8th Ave and 42nd.

Hi Eleanor,

I just realised when reading your itinerary that you are going in Sept!! All my friends think I%26#39;m crazy for planning things so far in advance and I leave in April!! I%26#39;m gald to know there are people out there planning in adv and I%26#39;m not ';weird';....

There are so many places to visit in NYC alone so it makes sense to at least have wish list by area of the places you want to visit.

And thanks to those people who actually come back and post a trip report.

1 Sep - seems ok

2 Sep -if you are not trying to do ALL those things in the afternoon, its ok

3 Sep - very ambitious

4 sep - you are allowing yourself NO time to get cleaned up for your dinner. I would shorten the bike ride by 1 hour.

5 sept - with such crowds as you find at any Parade in NYC, be careful with your personal belongings. I live here and I am very cautious.

6 sep - Mme Tussauds is very expensive. If you are doing the NBC tours also (be sure you have tickets in advance so far as I know), I would drop Mme Tussauds

7 sep - I think the circle line cruise is more than 2 hours. closer to 3 and you need to allow extra time for waiting on line, and the fact that you may not get back to the pier exactly on time.

Chelsea area and Rockefeller Center/TWC are far enough apart that I would drop one- chelsea). You need to allow PLENTY of time to get to the baseball game.

8 SEp - MET AND Cloisters? That%26#39;s a full day right there. No way you will get all the other stuff done (in my opinion)

9 Sep - good plan

10 sep good plan

Hi Karenjme,

You are right about the bike-tour in Central Park, but I was thinking of maybe putting the Broadwayshow on a week-evening, so then that%26#39;s settled...

Me and my husband have both NYPass so I want to see Mme Tussauds anyway. The Met and Cloisters is not sure yet, maybe I%26#39;ll do just one of the two, it depends.

I%26#39;m not really into art (paintings), so maybe I could better choose Cloisters? I don%26#39;t know...

Thx for the advice though!

Grtz Ellen

Wow. you are incredibly organised! Just to let you know that before I went to New York, a good friend advised me not to bother with the NBC tour. She did it and felt it was a waste of money - all they did was tell you how great they were. This is not a personal opinion but I thought I should pass on the warning that was given to me. I had the time of my life in New York, I hope you have a wonderful trip too! :-)

Eleanor, if you are not into paintings then DEFINITELY try the Cloisters. It is a beautiful spot (and it is part of the Museum (the Met I think) so if you have any sort of discount card, check and see if its good at the cloisters.

I think the #4 bus on Madison Avenue goes there. Not sure about the subway.

A few restaurants that I PERSONALLY like

Pietrasanta (9th ave and 47th St, I Think)

La Madeleine (43rd St between 8-9th Aves)

Tout Va Bien (51st between 8-9 Ave)

There is a cute ';italian'; restaurant on LExington Avenue between 55-56 called Fresh Basil. Very decent food and good value.

Then I also like Wo-Hop in China town (but downstairs, not upstairs (it SEEMS more authentic.

Angelos on Mulberry Street (very pricey).

Now I know the comments SOME of you will have about these. Please dont. These are only my PERSONAL opinion.
